If you're a jewels and jets type (AKA a lover of jewelry and travel) then Three Jane has the perfect trinket for you: a bracelet or necklace you can customize with a map of just about any place in the world.
I first saw the piece in New York Magazine's The Cut blog and had to have one right away. This is a great way to commemorate a magical moment, remind you of a special memory or simply provide an inspirational respite during a brutal work week. A tiny crystal dots the map. On the reverse of the 14k gold plate you can get anything you want inscribed for a $15 charge.
I ordered a bracelet with a map of Paris' Place des Vosges on it. I had a few inspirational reminders printed on the back. The ordering process was easy: you simply plug in physical street address. I used novelist Victor Hugo's house at 6 Places des Vosges. Three Jane's Katie Schloss emailed me a mock-up of my map for approval. Once approved, it was on the way, arriving a little sooner than I expected.
When I opened the envelope containing it, I was thrilled. The plate is much bigger than I anticipated. The bracelet chain runs a smidge on the small-ish side at 6 1/4". If you have a larger wrist, a necklace might be your best option.
I LOVE this piece. It's a great girlfriend/sister/mom/aunt/daughter/whatever gift. It's also a perfect every day bracelet that is great to wear with a watch. I might add some of my favorite places like Barcelona, the beach in Mexico where we were married or simply Montecito to the mix.
A necklace costs $175 and a bracelet $158 plus shipping.
